My Letter K today is going to stand for Kingda Ka. I'm dedicating this post to all of you thrill seekers and giant roller coater fans. Because at Six Flags, Great Adventure in none other than Jackson, New Jersey stands Kingda Ka, the world's tallest roller coaster and the second fastest roller coaster in the world! I am not a fan of heights so I have never had the courage to ride this thing, but many of my friends and family members have ridden it and love it.

Here are some stats on this thing:
The train is launched to 128 miles per hour (206 km/h) in 3.5 seconds. At the end of the track the train climbs the main top hat tower, reaching a height of 456 feet (139 m) and spanning over a 3,118-foot-long (950 m) track by the end of the ride.
This ride is NOT for the faint of heart. Random quirky incidents that have happened to Kingda Ka since it's been in operation:
(1) A little boy got HIT IN THE FACE by a bird while riding in the first seat of the train. See You Tube video below.
(2) Kingda Ka got struck by lightening
(3) Hurricane Irene damaged this ride and it had to undergo major repairs.
(4) There was a bolt failure and it caused metal shards and sparks to start flying out of the bottom of the train. Luckily, no one was hurt during this incident.
What about you? Is a ride on Kingda Ka right up your alley or would you take a hard pass and instead choose to go grab yourself a delicious, hot, sweet, funnel cake to enjoy while waiting for the crazy people you came with to get off this ride (like me)?
